BORED GAMERS – Series 2 Coming Soon!
Bored Gamers debuted as a weekly show on Latest TV in September 2014, quickly becoming the most popular and syndicated programme on the Freeview 8 network nationwide, with a reach of several million viewers. The original series Redux (30 minute) episodes are now available on Amazon Prime Instant Video!
Incorporating an easy-going casual style, presenters, gaming enthusiasts and self proclaimed 'non-experts' Jim Devereaux and Greg Marshall discuss and review the latest and greatest video and board game releases.
They are also joined by celebrities, special guests and their techincal crew/hardcore gaming pals Brad Smith and Adam Whittaker regularly throughout the series to dissect all things gaming (and everything else for that matter). The show is filmed on a green screen set, allowing for some sophisticated and fun ways to interact with the video games being played.
Instead of a traditional review system, in addition to using a basic star rating, Bored Gamers introduces the 'Boredometer', a gauge based tool we use to review the re-playability and longevity of game play. In short – the boredom threshold.
If it's in the green, the game is great fun and will keep you coming back for more and more. If it's in the red, avoid at all costs because this game is gonna bore you senseless. You get the idea.
Every week, a celebrity or special guest takes on the Retro Video Game Challenge – a single fight (no practice allowed!) of the Classic Street Fighter II on our beloved in-house SEGA Mega Drive.
Can they get a new high score? Will they be rooted to the bottom of the leaderboard? Who will be crowned our Retro Video Game Champion!? Tune in to find out.
Alongside reviews, the programme includes exciting feature segments as the Bored Gamers attend conventions, meet manufacturers and designers and much more, to explore every facet of gaming. Programme producers and presenters Jim Devereaux and Greg Marshall have over 30 years experience between them, both behind and in front of the camera, as well as a plethora of stage and entertainment work.
